Our House

So we finally got a town home. So that means that it's ours to destroy and remodel which has been fun but super tiring. So far we have painted the living room, Evan put together our couch and entertainment center, we have ripped out the shower in the master bedroom, painted the master bedroom, hung new curtains, got the kitchen situated and are slowly working on the blind situation. I think this has been the biggest annoyance, our windows are 75 inches long. Blinds if you haven't noticed, don't come that length. So now we have to return all our blinds and special order new ones. Which long story short, means more money. So wish us luck that we aren't living on the street in another month from paying for blinds haha.

Whistler Honeymoon

Since Evan didn't really go into details about the honeymoon, I'm choosing to elaborate a little. So we left our beautiful wedding in our matching awesome sweatsuits, to proceed to Evan's awful car.




So I'm thinking we will just take care of it whenever, but no Evan proceeds to the car wash and here we are in matching sweat suits throwing sausages away. We got quite the double takes. The next morning we try to get on the early flight to Canada, luckily my dad has a friend who is a ticket agent and gets us on along with checking our bags for free. So we are feeling good coming into Canada with no slip ups. We get to the car rentals and apparently not being 25 is a pain in the butt. It's almost impossible to rent a car and decide to tell us this once we get there. Not before when we made the reservations. Of course not right? By the time we leave in our awesome Toyota Yaris it was starting to get dark. Keep in mind folks that Canada gets dark around 4. Plus Tom Tom was starting the revolution against us. By the time Tom Tom told us to do a U-turn about 10 times and driving through windy roads in pitch black and a down pour we arrive at our hotel. Apparently at this "village" it's easier said then done to check in. By the time we check in and go to 4 different locations it's about 8pm. We finally walk into our room and door almost hits the bed the room is so small. This is where Mrs. Sharon Howard regulated. I have no idea what she did but we get a phone call 15 minutes later with a different location in a different area. This new hotel was wonderful, until the next morning when we had a puddle from our wall leaking and my suitcase sitting in it. Long story short we moved rooms again and ended up in a suite. It was pretty cool. Here is a view from our balcony.



The next day we decided to go skiing for the first time, and we got some beautiful pictures and even found the symbol for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics!



Here are some pictures that we took while on the Gondola, it went from peak to peak. So the two resorts were one giant one. It was pretty cool.




At night we would walk around Whistler and see all the different shops and basically spend some much needed time together after the craziness of the wedding. It was so wonderful to just have it me and Evan. I'm very selfish when it comes to sharing him. And everyone who knows him, he is contagious to be around. You don't want to ever let him go.


Some of the highlights of skiing, were obviously the tug rope. We see this thing on the chair lift that people look like they are sitting on and it's pulling them up. I thought it looked great and of course we looked like idiots when we go up to do the infamous tug rope. The lifty is yelling don't sit don't sit, stand stand!! I'm laughing to hard to hold on to the tug rope while Evan is all over the place. Basically we looked like idiots and it was wonderful. Then of course another bright highlight was skiing in general, here is Evan looking amazing like usual


Unfortunately I don't have more pictures of Vancouver so I guess I have to do another blog with those pictures. All in all it was a wonderful trip seeing another culture and being together. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

Wedding Bells

Well the day has come. The gangly kid that use to have his mother hold his underwear open so he could run across the room and jump in them now has a beautiful wife to hold them open. Rachel and i got married on January 9th, and it could not have turned out better. We spent our honeymoon in Whistler and could not have had more wild and crazy fun. With all the mix ups and mishaps we ended the trip still holding each others hands, and being happier then ever. It started with a room the size of an 82' Chevy Nova and it ended with Airport Security forcing us to pack our purses and backpacks into our luggage while people with bigger bags walked past and pointed. With that said, between those two events we skied every Olympic run, a glacier, a run that was 7 miles long. It was a trip we will never forget and a trip that will go down as one of the most fun we’ve had.

4 Days

So I'm well aware that most people aren't keeping track of how close the wedding is, but news flash people I am. So we get married in 4 days at Tuscany the restaurant. With a small ceremony of about 40 people and a reception that afternoon with all our family and friends. I am so freaking excited. Despite all the issues that have happened, cough cough dress, we have gotten everything done and I really think we are ready. In the midst of the wedding, we have had an amazing Christmas with the Howards and the Footes. So much fun with both families. I love being around all the craziness at the Howards and how excited kids get with new toys. Also, in case I haven't mentioned, I love having nieces and nephews. I think it is so fun because kids are so funny and say the most random things and are so precious. Kerry's son Jackson is so adorable and I swear is getting cuter everyday. So excited to have him in my wedding too, btw. Evan and I are very thankful for everything everyone has done for us. I know with the holiday season it gets hectic and probably adding a wedding to the mix isn't making things very relaxing. But just wanted everyone to know how wonderful everyone has been through everything and how excited I am to have two wonderful families. So thanks everyone!
