Haircuts

We always buzz our dogs every year for summer.  They both have pretty think coats, so we think we are doing them a favor by this.  But after seeing the pictures from our hair cut session last night, I'm not so sure they are thankful.

Why I Hate Feet

I have numerous reasons why I hate feet, but this has gone to an all time high.  Needless to say I have the worst feet ever.  They are flat and fat, and just not cute.  My Mom calls my toes little smokies.  That honestly is what they look like if you need a visual.  Since Evan is gone, I only run Alta because I just can't control Torre.  Alta is the perfect running dog, she hates men so she will bark and bark if a guy even tries to approach us while we are out.  Makes me feel super safe, so I can jam to my music as high as I want.  While I was running my foot really started bothering me, but I figured it was the story of my life so I tried to just ignore it and kept on running.  Well when I got home, I looked down at my shoe and saw this:

Which first is really disgusting, and second these shoes are like 2 months old.  Really I had to have blood on them?  Needless to say at this point, I was quite intrigued to see what exactly happened to my feet.  Next step was to see the sock, this was gross as well.

I will spare you all the picture of my actual toes.  Apparently my pinky toes nail grows weird and literally stabbed my poor toe next to it!  What the flip are the chances that could ever happen.  So now my feet are all bandaged.....once again I hate feet.  Mainly my feet I hate.

Nothing else of interest has happened, just decided to gross everyone out pictures.  Happy Wednesday!

So my next stop on my tour of Colorado was Crested Butte and this is a little ski town in Southern Colorado. This is one of my favorite places to travel to in Colorado because its pretty small but still a lot of fun. It's a total ski town without all the high rise hotels and fancy restaurants. My hotel was right off main street, it didn't even have a tv in the room so I walked down to main street to get dinner on my first night. Here are some pictures of downtown Crested Butte.

The next day I had off so I took a day to ski around and see some of the mountain. It was really hot so the snow felt like you were skiing on mashed patatoes.
This run is the reason I wear a helmet every day. Crested Butte is known for some of the steepest and gnarliest terrain, and this little run was no different. With the poor snow we have had this season it was covered in rocks that are usually covered with snow, so it was a little dicey but really exciting to try something like this for a few runs. The first picture is about 1/3 of the way down. The second picture is from the bottom.

Bellow is a picture of the Town of Crested Butte from the top of the ski resort. Really pretty views

Here is what the mountains look like at 6 in the morning. The reason Ramp sent me there was because we sponsor a series of music festivals called Festevol.
After the demo I was given VIP tickets to the concert. Were we got free food and beer all night, while we watched Barenaked Ladies and Guster. I was actually fortunate enough to ski with the lead singer of Barenaked ladies Ed Robinson and his family, they are from Canada and really good skiers. Here is how the concert looked.
All in all it was a great stop. Next i will be in Dillon Colorado for a few days until i get home to my smoking hot wife who has been slaving over the dogs for the past 2 weeks. Rachel does such an amazing job when i'm gone. She rarely complains and takes care of everything at the house. She really is the best wife in the world.

Post Cleanse

Well, needless to say I didn't make the whole week.  I was doing really good the first 4 days, then I got to the meat day.  My Mom even helped me out by making a high protein meatloaf for me, hoping it would help me get the 20oz. I needed.  I made it through half of the meat day and ended it.  What was interesting though, I didn't crave chips or sweets.  Those are my downfall.  I try to keep no junk food in the house when Evan is out of town because then I have no accountability while he is gone.  Evan really tries to eat healthy with me so I'm not tempted.  Needless to say though, my running did have to take the back seat.  I tried running on the first day, fruit day.  I run with each dog individually because it's too hard to run with Torre.  So while I was doing my second loop with Alta, I got crazy light headed and started blacking out.  And since Evan wasn't home, I don't really have an option of someone taking care of me so I decided to just skip it that week.  I did however lose 5 pounds, I wasn't expecting life changing results just a better outlook of eating better.  I am happy to say that I haven't eaten anything bad for me, and now get the healthier alternative at restaurants when I'm out.  It's hard, and there are days when I want to eat something bad.  But as Evan put it into perspective for me, "if being skinny was easy, everyone would be"  It does take handwork to get weight off, and dedication.  There can't really be off days, or binge days.  If you do, then expect to do a 9 mile run that day because calories add up quickly.  I'm extremely thankful during my week of constant encouragement from Evan and my Mom asking if she can help with different menu ideas.  I needed all the help I could get, it was rough.  What is fun even though I did end the cleanse early, I've still kept the weight off and have continued to lose more.  So hopefully I'll be at my goal by the time swimsuit season rolls around again!

Life on the Road Pt2

After I was finished in Telluride I headed farther south to a town called Durango. Now nothing could have prepared me for what I was going to find down there. It was a totally different world, and I don't know if I was ready for it. Apparently the whole state of Texas was on spring break. so the entire town of Durnago was taken over by Texans... and let me tell you it was a sight to see. I have been skiing for over 8 years now and feel i have a good grasp of the skiing community, but unfortunately saw a lot of things for the first time on this trip that I hope don't follow me back to Utah.

Exhibit A: Ski bikes? You put mini skis on your boots, and ride a bike down the hill. Can you even dream of something that makes less sense. This lady looks just ridiculous and nobody even pulled her aside to let her know it. Unfortunately I was never able to see one of these contraptions get on the lift, but i can imagine it looked silly
 Exzibit B:
Nobody skis... Serious... They show up an hour before the lifts start turning to stake out a spot at the base of the resort. I almost saw a fight break out because someone tried to sneak a chair out of someone else's circle. They show up with all of these chairs, coolers, and just relax in the sun. They pay $80.00 for a lift ticket and take 2 runs.
Here's a list of things you will find in this picture that are alarming.
-Kids not skiing because they are sun bathing
-The guy in shorts and ski boots messing with his phone
-Only about three helmets
-Camouflage...
- Red solo cups
-In the center of the chair circles would be like a snow fire pit full of beers to keep them cold
-A lot of fur boots.
-Way to many headbands

I took a quarter turn to my left and here is the actual resort. Nobody on it... Yet the base looks like a Kid Rock concert. I don't understand... I felt like i was being filmed on an episode of my Big Redneck Vacation (Great show by the way)

After my demo at Durango I had to drive 6 hours up to northern Colorado and this is what most of the drive looked like. It was really pretty.

Southern Colorado is probably one of the nicest places I have been. It has really cool rock formations that reminded me of southern Utah but it's at a much higher altitude, so its covered in snow.

I am in Crested Butte now and this is my third trip down here this season. Crest Butte is by far my favorite location I go to in Colorado. I will post pictures once i'm finished.

Life on The Road

This month I am touring Colorado for work, stopping at Telluride, Durango, Keystone, A-Basin, Crested Butte, and Copper Mountain. This is one of my longer trips of the season, but on my drive down to Telluride I noticed that I would be driving right through Moab and Arches National Park. I had just got done telling my family how much I wanted to take a trip down there, so I decided to do it on my own. I went for a short three mile hike to Delicate Arch. It was so cool to actually see it. I have seen so many pictures of it but seeing it in person is a totally different experience. It was pretty shocking how big it was and also just how pretty that National Park was. I'm really happy I stopped. Here are a few picture of my trip so far.

Cleanse

Well, with spring around the corner I have decided to do a cleanse.  And no, I've NEVER done one of these before.  I have never had the self control or dedication to even begin to start one.  I did however find one that I'm hoping I can stand for the next week.  It also helps that with all the traveling Evan does, he won't be around while I try to start this system so I won't be tempted to eat what he is eating.  I won't lie, it's going to be hard.  There is one day that I'm supposed to only eat beef and tomatoes.  Anyone who knows me, they will tell you I don't eat a lot of meat, especially beef.  So my Mom is in the works of finding me something else that will give me the same amount of protein.  The thought of eating 20 oz. of beef makes me want to throw up.  Overall though, the cleanse is right up my alley.  Tons of fruit and veggies, which I adore.  Shouldn't be too bad, just a matter of trying to stay full is going to be the hardest part.  If anyone wants the link to the cleanse let me know, would be happy to share!  I'll let everyone know next week if it works, and if any pounds come off.  Here's to hoping for that!!
