So we have had a very eventful weekend. It all started last Thursday when I made the decision that we needed a puppy. So I found an adorable mini Australian Shepherd on KSL and begged Evan that we needed her. Well after he consented, the puppy was gone. So we kinda took it as a sign that she wasn't the one for us. So we go skiing with my parents all day at Park City and after got an awesome lunch at Red Rock. Evan's recommendation there is the Kobe Burger, he swears it was the best burger he ever had. So we are all sitting there and I notice a PetCo so we all decide to go look at the puppies so this could get out of my system. We walk over and the Humane Society has some dogs there that you can adopt. We walk in and there is the cutest Australian Shepherd that is 4 years old in this tiny crate. We decide to walk her around the store, and she instantly starts giving Evan kisses and long story short we take her home. Now, first of all, if you're reading my blog and you have no heart for animals you can stop reading. People make me literally sick that can just decide one day, hey I'm sick of my animal and don't want them anymore. If I could ever meet this family I could hit every single one of them. It makes me physically ill what they put this poor dog through. She hates being alone now, you can tell she wasn't loved at all, and she is dying for attention. She is 4 years old, and they "claim" that she isn't good around small dogs. Because pretty sure she has been around small dogs all weekend and is perfectly fine. Are you sure that you a-hole family didn't get a new dog and just didn't want an older dog around. Wow, thanks you're all jerks. So for all you people out there that just get sick of your dogs and drop them off, you are heartless jerks. It literally makes me sick that any individual can have that mind set. Dogs can't defend themselves yet a person can decide that they just don't want them. You self-centered people make me physically sick.
Anyways, back to my story. So we bring her home, she is an angel. Is already crate trained, house broken everything. But she has kennel cough from being around other dogs at the shelter that were sick. So the Humane Society said we could bring her in Tuesday to get it treated for free. So we were watching her seeing if it was getting worse, etc. Yesterday I come home from work and she doesn't come running to the door when I open it and she is literally in a daze. I'm looking at her and she is falling asleep standing up. She isn't eating and is super tired. So I call the vet and tell her the symptoms and she said to bring her in. So to the vet all of us go. We get there, poor Torre ends up having a 104 temperature, and pneumonia. Her kennel cough had gotten so bad it had turned into pneumonia. The vet said they needed to keep her overnight to treat her with liquids and get her eating again and make her little body better. It was the saddest thing in the world when we left. She looked at us like we were abandoning her. Hands down saddest night, plus the bill is pretty sad as well. But money doesn't matter when it comes to saving your little dog child. She is so precious, and we got a phone call today saying she is eating again and doing much better. So little Torre gets to come home. It just shows that dogs can only handle so much stress and anxiety. This poor little dog is so confused what is going on. But once she is home and healthy it will only get better!! I will post pictures later when she is feeling better.

OUCH!! Could you not have fought that vet bill and told them they should have taken care of her in the first place and she wouldn't be so sick? That sucks. I'm glad she's feeling better and you're right now that she's home and loved she will get better quicker.
Torre's luck is turning around! She has landed firmly on her feet, with a good home. Before you know it she will be going running with you. She certainly is a sweet girl who will no doubt flourish in your home! Score stands at
Grandchildren 9- Granddogs 5
