2 Years

Today, I have been married to my best friend for two years.  It's been a wild two years for us!  Over the last year alone we:

  • Tried to ski every weekend
  • Spent countless hours cuddling with our dogs
  • Watched the Dodgers have a not so stellar season
  • Planned our dream vacation
  • Went on our dream vacation to England, Italy, and Spain
  • I was able to meet all my extended family on Evan's side, which was a huge goal for us!
  • Attended an amazing finance class for 4 months.
  • I had 4 different jobs
  • Evan had 2
  • My sister had an amazing wedding which we were able to attend
  • We had our first delinquent experience with Torre
  • I gradually "attempted" to decorate
  • Went camping with friends and family numerous times over the summer
  • Evan graduated!

Second time Evan and I ever hung out
Overall, we have had a busy year.  Many mile stones happened over 2011 and all of a sudden our two year anniversary was here!!  Needless to say, it's been an amazing two years.  We went to Tuscany for our anniversary to be in the same place where we had the most amazing wedding ever.  As Evan put it, we should try to go every year for our anniversary so we can have the same feelings as the first day of marriage.  We have had countless support over the last two years from both parents.  Thank you both for your countless hours of help you give us, and phone calls.  We love you both and have such great examples to live by.  It's so funny to look at pictures when we first started dating and see how young we look.  Yes, we are coming to terms with getting old.  But everyday is great to grow old with the one you love.

The last two years, Evan and I have learned more about each other everyday.  For instance, he is the little handyman around the house.  And I positively love it.  If something breaks, he will fix it.  I, on the other hand, am somewhat useless in this area.  I try to be a good assistant.  We are learning to budget and save.  Which I think has been our biggest feat to conquer.  I think, personally, money can be a touchy subject.  My parents enrolled us into Financial Peace University (which I strongly recommend) and we were so skeptical at first.  But just in the first month we had a whole new perspective on our finances.  I know most people hate talking about money, but our lives have completely changed because of this class.  And I'm not trying to be a spokesperson for the class, but it was a huge hurdle for us.  You always hear everyone say that each additional year of marriage is better then the last.  And I used to think these people were so cheesy, but it's honestly so true.  You grow with that person, and just learn things about them.  Evan, no matter what, can ALWAYS make me laugh.  It doesn't matter what kind of day I'm having, he is constantly there to make me feel better.  And I'm assuming everyone read my rant on customer service issues, trust me somedays it's hard to get me out of my funk, but Evan is that magical cure to cheer me right up.  I can honestly say that Evan makes me a better person and helps me grow in ways I didn't know were possible.

So happy anniversary Ev!  You are the bees knees!  I think you are the most wonderful person in the entire world, and I couldn't imagine one day without you in it!
