Valentines Day was a good one this year. My friends and I decided to make treats for the men in our life, so we got together on the 13th and put our Betty Crocker skills to work. Needless to say, we ate most of the treats since all our guys aren't a big fan of treats. The strawberries were a hit with Evan, but that was about it. Oh well, you win some you lose some. When I got home though I had a lovely surprise of roses from Evan and a sparkling clean house. He is so the greatest. The next morning, while he serenaded me when we got ready, he agreed to take me to my favorite Mexican place for lunch. Loco Lizard, in case you don't know me very well. I gorged myself on chips and salsa and of course a pitcher of beer. After we decided to probably run some of these calories off, so we could continue on our bad eating habits. It is a holiday after all right? So after running we drove to Sonic for some coney dogs, and stopped at Little Ceasars for breadsticks. Ended the night with some chocolate covered strawberries and my all time favorite show...Glee.
I really think on holidays like this, there are so many women out there that have these huge expectations. Or some 5 star restaurant and if there husband doesn't buy them flowers, or do this or that, it means they aren't loved. I watched Facebook all day seeing people take picture after picture of what their husband or boyfriend did. I honestly think all men try their hardest to make the women in their life happy. Every person is different though, so you can't compare what someone did to someone else. My Valentines day was the PERFECT day for me. Granted I did get two days of celebration. We had our wonderful friends the Marchants over for dinner, and then we headed off to Melting Pot for some delicious dessert. It was seriously the best night ever. The guys were so thoughtful the whole night, and we had the best company which made for the perfect night. But back to my point, I think everyone needs to love the one their with for them. Not what they want them to be, you didn't marry or be with that person for those reasons. I love Evan for all the things he is and how our Valentines Day actually was. It really was the perfect day and I love that we eat the crappiest food and run to validate our eating. No one can really say their husband will sit through Glee and not complain the whole time, or play Words with Friends with me for hours because he knows it makes me happy. I'm so lucky to have Evan in my life and get so spoiled by him.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day.

Awe cute! I couldn't agree more. We have to love those we're with for who they are, rather than the perfection we'd like to perhaps make them. Nobody is perfect. Jeramie and I LOVE just a plain boring dinner and a movie date. It's a hit every time. We don't often get to do it together so I think when we do it's such a treat that we appreciate it more.
