On Day 4, Ann took us into London. We definitely would've been goners if she wouldn't have gone with us on the trains and subways. It gets confusing! So off we went at 9am, first to the London Eye. Which has amazing views across the city. After that we went to the Tower of London. Apparently Evan's family goes here when they come as a family and gets a picture in front of traitor's gate. So of course we had to get one too! The tour was nice, we got to see a lot of history just in that place. For people that don't know what Tower of London is known for, it has the royal jewels, it once was the palace (for Henry VIII) Ann Boleyn had her head chopped off there, and it's known for having many prisoners and torture. Also, it's huge inside. You see it from the outside with the wall but you have no idea just how many buildings are inside of it. Also the beefeaters (or the tour guides) they actually live there. I thought that was very interesting. So after that tour, we hopped on a boat and rode that over to St. Paul's cathedral. Ann was telling us that during WWII a missile was dropped on the cathedral, went through the roof but didn't go off. Amazing! When we went in, they actually had a choir singing so it made it extremely special and had more of the "church feel". After we saw that, we walked past the Globe Theatre and made our way down for our Jack the Ripper tour that we missed the first day. On the whole tour it was so interesting how much the tour guide knew and how close all these murders took place next to each other. The whole story was extremely gruesome but so fascinating too. They "think" it was someone in the palace sent to kill all these ladies because there was a marriage that happened that the royal family didn't want anyone to find out about. So all these ladies were friends that were killed and all of them were prostitutes. But there are many different versions of what people think who did it. Then AJ told us ghost stories after which completely freaked me out. When we finished there Evan's cousin, Rebecca, took us to an awesome noodle house. So delicious and then we headed back. Extremely busy day of walking and trying to get as much in as possible in such the short time we had. Also every stop we had, I was trying to find Cadbury chocolate bars while Evan was trying to scope out another 99.
Here are some pictures from all the different places we went to that day!
The London Eye
We really wanted to see the changing of the guard, so Evan put on the super big lens and we were somewhat able to see it from the London Eye!
The outside of the Tower of London
The beefeaters
The view when you walked in
Inside of the gates
Where the crown jewels were held. So beautiful.
These houses were where the beefeaters lived. Evan said that there was a guard outside one of the houses and that's where the Prince of Wales was staying on a visit? I didn't hear the tour guide say that. Apparently I'm bad at paying attention during tours.
Another view of where the crown jewels were held
The church inside the White Tower
The White Tower
Our fun group! Minus Ann, she had to take the picture (sorry Ann!)
In front of Traitor's Gate for the infamous picture.
Tower Bridge
Globe Theatre
Let me explain this picture. There were so many talented people all over the streets of London singing, playing instruments and Evan thought this guy was amazing. I thought that he was really not cool, but hey I'm sure there are stuff that I like that Evan thinks aren't that awesome too.
St. Paul's Cathedral
After our Jack the Ripper tour. For some reason we didn't take any pictures while we were actually on the tour, this is the only picture we have
Big Ben at night
I love this picture, I think it's so pretty how they light it up blue.

I love London! Really, not just because I am British, but it is such a fascinating city. You could spend months there and never see it all!
You should do a post with all the pictures of the Howard's in front of the gate!
