Epic
I know quite a few people that hate this word...epic. Personally I think this word should only be used if you have had that kind of day. Let me break down our Sunday. Evan gets up and let's me sleep, then comes sprinting up the stairs screaming like a girl, flings the blinds open and starts shaking me yelling IT SNOWED. I hope that gave you an accurate mental image. If you don't know us, we are snow junkies. We have been a little down in the dumps lately with the lack of snow and the mediocre runs up at the bird. Let's be honest, we are spoiled and had WAY too many great powder days in November and December, which that is unheard of in Utah. So needless to say, getting up at 10:30 and trying to get everything together is extremely late for us to get up to the bird. Evan decided we were going to take the bus, since the last big snow storm, let's just say it ended in me in tears thinking I was going to kill my husband from our car doing a 180. Not good. So there we are sitting at the park and ride, and no bus. Keep in mind, snow is falling, we are missing powder. So Evan grabs a schedule, um of course the bus doesn't come until 1, why wouldn't it? So we hurry and throw our gear back in the car and zoom up the canyon. Needless to say we get to the top of Little Cloud, to head to our side of the mountain and Evan takes the first turn and all I hear is screaming and giggling. He gets EXTREMELY excited on powder days. But this day, we had no idea it was going to be this great. We had thigh high powder all day on Sunday. Plus what made the day even better, all the tourists went inside because they have no clue how to ski powder. We got to ski all our favorite spots, with non-stop chutes and we both had to wear our Bula's because snow was literally going up our noses. It was EPIC. And yes I can say epic because this is the only kind of day that deserves this title. On top of this out of the world snow, they closed the canyon. Which meant that no one else could come up and partake of this delicious heaven. There was hardly anyone up there, there were no lines, and we had powder, and it snowed ALL day long. I couldn't imagine a more perfect day. Plus we had to stay there until 4 since the canyon was closed going down too, just made for a longer day which was perfect. The second we got home, I don't think we moved one inch until Evan decided his soreness was worth getting us food. Burger King, dinner of champions.
